The British-born, Berlin-based artist Sam Barker has long sought to push the boundaries of electronic music, in and out of the club. Looking beyond the realm of 4/4 techno to explore left-field sound design and rhythmic complexity, the Berghain resident’s string of signature solo releases for the club’s Ostgut Ton imprint and Smalltown Supersound – including Debiasing, Utility, and 2025’s Stochastic Drift – have earned widespread acclaim from the underground to the mainstream and everything in between. Utility was named Mixmag’s Album of the Year in 2019, while Stochastic Drift was named Mojo’s #1 Electronic Album of 2025, with Pitchfork likewise celebrating the record with a Best New Music review and naming it #14 on their 50 Best Albums of 2025 list.

A restless collaborator and live performer, Barker is one-half of Barker & Baumecker, and his expansive approach to unorthodox musical exploration has led to ongoing live collaborations with the likes of Norwegian saxophonist Bendik Giske or alongside Speedy J, Rødhåd and Sebastian Mullaert in the shapeshifting live improv outfits Stoor, WSNWG and Circle of Live. His practice extends further into sound installations and instrument design, including works presented as part of Berghain’s Studio Berlin exhibition, and at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin with Kay Sievers / Versio Duo.

Scott Myles is a Scottish artist based in Glasgow and Berlin. His practice is strongly gestural and consists of sculpture, painting, printmaking, artist’s books, photography and performance-based projects: a kind of reactivation of ideas relating to the value of art and social reality by means of reusing already established codes. Early works explored circulation, exchange and value.

Since 2008, in the wake of the global recession, Myles produced a number of projects and sculptures wherein he allegorises symbols which had become ruins, ranging from large-scale sculptural works to dematerialised site-specific pieces. More recently his practice has extended into sound and social sculpture. Instrument for the People of Glasgow, assembled from donations from Eurorack synthesiser manufacturers worldwide and presented at the Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow in his solo exhibition Head in a Bell (2024-25), embodies his longstanding interest in gift exchange and alternative economic models.

Scott Myles’ artworks are held in public collections including Tate London, MoMA New York, the Hammer Museum Los Angeles, Harvard University, The British Council, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and Glasgow Museums.

Myles is represented by The Modern Institute, Glasgow, Meyer Riegger, Berlin and The Breeder, Athens.
